About FOODSHIFT Pathways
FSP is a three-year duration (2022-2025) KA2 Strategic Partnership in the field of school education, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
It involves two higher education institutions; Lund University and National Technical University of Athens, three secondary education schools in Austria (BG/BRG Schwechat), Greece (Ellinogermaniki Agogi), and Sweden (Ystad Gymnasium), and a Science Centre in Italy (Fondazione Idis – Città della Scienza).
The current FS is contributing to 30% of the European share of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions1, with 24% alone coming from animal-based-food2 and 6% from food loss and waste3. The need for arable soil to grow crops for feeding livestock results in a high pressure on land use, biodiversity, and water resources4.
The project will develop a learning ecosystem where students encounter innovative learning experiences and be supported by scientists, in ways that could lead to future opportunities in academic, professional, and civic realms. It will a) produce interactive digital resources on sustainable Food and Nutrition Systems, b) provide an effective training programme for school communities and c) develop a validation framework testing students sustainability citizenship and dedication to healthy lives.
